If you've recently looked at my Github profile, you've seen that I support several open source projects.

Below is a alphabetically sorted list of all the projects and exactly why I chose to support them.

cryptgeon

  • Description: cryptgeon is a secure, open source sharing note or file service.
  • Reason: It's a small project that I use from time to time.

kubecolor

  • Description: Kubecolor is a kubectl wrapper used to add colors to your kubectl output.
  • Reason: So far, I have run over 1'000 kubectl commands on my new machine. Thanks to the tool, everything looks much nicer and it's also easier to recognise important information.

  • Description: mailcow is a dockerized open source groupware/email suite.
  • Reason: I have been running my own mail server with mailcow since January 15, 2022. I never had any issues.

Pingvin Share

  • Description: Pingvin Share is a self-hosted file sharing platform and an alternative for WeTransfer.
  • Reason: I wanted to support a small project from a trainee.

Uptime Kuma

  • Description: Uptime Kuma is an easy-to-use self-hosted monitoring tool.
  • Reason: One of the best monitoring tools for homelabs.

WireGuard Easy

  • Description: The easiest way to install & manage WireGuard on any Linux host.
  • Reason: Super easy project to get started with WireGuard.

  • Description: yq is a lightweight and portable command-line YAML, JSON and XML processor.
  • Reason: A really powerful tool that I use daily.

  • Description: The Internet Archive is an American non-profit organization founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle that runs a digital library website, archive.org.
  • Reason: I really like the Wayback Machine and would miss it very much if it went offline.
